Three security officers attached to the DP William Ruto were on Thursday questioned over their role in Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi’s escape when police raided his home last week.
Investigators wanted to uncover the mission the three officers in Ruto allied Mp’s home when police officers went to arrest him.
The lawmaker who was wanted for incitement and hate speech had evaded arrest for two days. The State intends to charge Sudi with five counts of hate speech over Mama Ngina Kenyatta spat.
He also accused of assaulting a police officer, offensive conduct, resisting arrest and being in illegal possession of a firearm.
Reports are showing that the officers had escorted the DP Ruto to his Sugoi residence, where they handed him over to the GSU officers.
The offices then headed over to Sudi’s home where the regular officers broke in in attempts to arrest Sudi.
According to The Standard, one officer from the elite unit was armed with a Jericho pistol loaded with 15 bullets while his colleague had a Ceska pistol and 30 bullets.
On Wednesday, a Magistrates Court ruled that Sudi will remain in police custody for another seven days but he has appealed that ruling.
He also requested the High Court to release him on reasonable bail terms.
