Two disabled octogenarians are latest victims of forceful eviction and land grab in Kisii County.
The piece of land in Riatwenya, Nyatieko location which belongs to them has been taken up for construction of a Police Station.
The sham public participation that was done by the are Chief named Juma and the area Member of County Assembly (MCA) Vincent Gitomi Ochoki is threatening to rip-off the old Kenyans.
A source that spoke to cnyakundi.com said that the two acquired land about 10 years ago and got the valid title deeds as the owners of the land.
Recently, after the public participation was done, it was decided that Nyatieko Police Station be built on it.
It was a sham public participation reeking of impunity and corruption of the highest order, meant to take away land from vulnerable people.
“The illegal public participation was done, and they decided to go ahead with the construction of a police station, where will my poor grandparents who are rightful owners of the land go to??? why does the government want to forcefully evict them and build a police post without their consent or giving them any form of compensation??”, a devastated grandchild said
What kind of murky business is the area MCA playing with area chief?
Why are they trying to take advantage of my poor grandparents?
