On Friday, 17th May, 2019; the biggest political party in Kenya in terms of representation, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), told Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) to join in a question and answer session.
The engagement was to take place for an hour.
Here is how it went down.

Would you like to meet Raila Odinga?
Let us keep our hopes alive hoping for better things to come but for sure, everything is a low and slow pace. I would really like to meet Right Hon @RailaOdinga in person, what are the possible requirements to secure a appointment to meet party leader?
— 😭Kenya (@AgapetusWamalwa) May 17, 2019
Kindly visit his Office at Capitol Hill to book an appointment with the Chief of Staff. @RailaOdinga has an open door policy and your wish will be granted >P.E.

Corrupt party
Our party is corrupt than William Ruto😂😂
— Sir Max (@nyakwardaktari) May 17, 2019
We invite you to report any cases of corruption by the party/party officials to the party headquarters for action. This will help us deal with the practice if ever it exists in the party >P.E
— The ODM Party (@TheODMparty) May 17, 2019
All disciplinary cases are acted upon on reccomendations by the local party branch. Hon. Jumwa's case was drawn to the party attention in a minuted communication from Malindi Branch. No such communication has been received from Turkana so it is treated as a rumour >P.E.

Wanna join the party?
You are welcome. You should start working closely with the youths in the sub-county and encourage them to be active members of the party. They will support your bid. Good luck >P.E.
— The ODM Party (@TheODMparty) May 17, 2019
Rebrand this corrupt outfit?
We can't change the brand. But we shall rebrand, rejuvinate and revamp the party for better future >P.E.

Some of the leaders elected on your ticket have nothing to show in terms of development record.
Every elected leader must live to his/her pledge to the people. They must serve the people equally regardless of who voted for them or not. Corruption is a NO. If there are cases of corruption, there are institutions charged with the responsibility of dealing with that >P.E.

Secretary General Edwin Siuna has failed
SG @edwinsifuna is up to the task. He is competent and doing all within his powers to make ODM a great movement >P.E.

My verdict
The ODM Party is no longer the vehicle of Kenya’s liberation. In fact no party is.
The peoples assemblies were something that wouldve changed Kenya, but as usual, politicians will join hands when they feel their collective interest is threatened.
Kenyans should lose faith in parties and try official and unofficial people assemblies in order to chart the couese of this nation.
