My friend was transferred to Lamu from Nairobi and he was given three days to relocate without any facilitation.
He borrowed me money because he desperately needed the job.
Two weeks after arrival, he fell sick and had to take his leave days to see a doctor in Nairobi. After treatment, he went back to Lamu but was denied any access to the branch and took the intervention of the area police to assist withdraw some cash.
When he reported the matter to the head office at Mombasa road, head of Human resource Lilian Ngala abused him that he was of unsound mind and doesn’t belong to DTB but to Mathare hospital.
He was given a written resignation letter but he refused to sign and after one week he was given a termination letter together with his retirement benefits document of which he had to sign another document stating that DTB doesn’t owe him anything and that was a final settlement.
He was sharp he did not sign the other document only dismissal document and they refused to give him his retirement benefit.
Up to date one year down the line he never got any payment from the bank courtesy of Lillian Ngala.
The whole scenario was so humiliating and hope he gets justice someday.
