A few days after this blog highlighted the plight of suffering teachers who are yet to be paid for supervising and marking the recently concluded national assessment tests, the Ministry of Education is once again under the spotlight for double-crossing a section of BOM Chairpersons from Thika West Sub-county.
Writing to us on Friday, 3 June, one of the frustrated educators revealed how a bunch of treacherous officials from the Prof Magoha-led docket teamed up with crooked characters at the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and crafted a training programme which turned out to be a bogus exercise.
During the three-day tutelage that took place at General Kago Primary School in Thika Municipality, they asked participants to fill out bank payment forms where compensatory funds would be wired.
Over 6 months down the line, they are yet to receive a single penny for their struggles.
“Hi Nyakundi,
The issue of unpaid teachers who went for marking reminds me of training that was organised by Thika West Sub-county director of Education and a few TSC staff at General Kago Primary School.
They invited BOM Chairs for a period of 3 days.
They made us fill payment forms, where we were supposed to give our bank accounts for payments to be channelled there.
Up to date, they have never paid us.
It was a School implementation plan (SIP) training.
Kindly follow up on the issue,” the source writes.
