Thushanti Selvarajah who has been serving as the UN Kenya Head of Programme (HoP) has resigned after being linked to slavery and racism at the heart of Gigiri, the United Nations Organisation (UN) compound.
According to our source, she resigned in June as also confirmed by her LinkedIn profile where she updated that she worked for the UNOPS Head of Programmes from Jan 2019 – Jun 2021
In April, this website exposed racism and slavery at the United Nations Office in Nairobi (UNON) where Thushanti Selvarajah – Head of Programme (HoP), Rainer Frauenfeld – Country Director (CD), Hina Tabassum – HR Manager, Idris Ahmed – Head of Support Services (HoSS) and Kripa Shah – Procurement Manager, were exposed as slave masters.
Catherine Pollard, chair of the task force on addressing racism and promoting dignity for all in the UN had promised action after the allegations emerged and also promised a full investigation and action.
But some UN staffers that spoke to us, demanded that those mentioned should first step aside and clear their names if indeed the fight against the institutional racism at the United Nations was real.
More staffers called on the Government, African Leaders to intervene because the leadership has been concealing these things and have failed to do anything for the past 6 years and counting.
