On Thursday morning, a video clip of Mama Ida Odinga and MPs Rosa Buyu and Gladys Wanga showcasing their dancing skills as the famous Rhumba hit “Papa Lolo” played in the background went viral on social media.
The three are currently in New York, United States where they had gone to attend the 63rd session of the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations Headquarters.
Mama Ida Odinga was among those scheduled to speak at the United Nations’ CWS — a forum that focuses on women empowerment and development under the organization.
We had a wonderful day exchanging ideas and generating solutions. My clear message is that regardless of our diversity i.e social backgrounds, religious and political affiliations, as women, we must uphold peace and jealously fight to protect it as outlined in the UN statute. pic.twitter.com/WpmsYw9G4L

I joined @FirstLadyKenya for her Beyond Zero side event at #CSW63 on the reduction in maternal and child mortality in Kenya. Different nations also shared their experiences and efforts towards achieving universal health coverage. #CSW2019 pic.twitter.com/jjdpOPCYlF
