It looks like the DCI, DPP and Ministry of Education is not interested in saving the Nyali Primary School and Kindergarten Mombasa.

The subject matter came into public domain in the second part of the year 2019. Since then, a lot has transpired and since the beginning of 2020 nothing has changed. In fact worst things have now happened. The looting principal and the board have put precautions to ensure that any looting that goes on in the school doesn’t reach the eyes of the watchful parents.

The Looting principal in conjunction with the supportive Board of the School have continued LOOTING school resources and have now pushed the school on the verge of collapse. Many senior good teachers have left the school in fear of being fixed by the looting Principal who sees them as a threat to his looting philosophy.
Some staff who were seen cooperating with the parents to finish corruption have been improperly sacked (attached sample letters) without following any due process. It is rumored that, the illegally constituted disciplinary committee that overlooked their case files, actually cleared them of any wrong doing. However, the Looting principal and some board members were not comfortable with them and forced their sacking. The secretary of the board (who is illegally in office) and who is a legal person advised the school against any wrongful sacking of the hard working staff. However, the board went on to sack them without any justification. These staff have now threatened to sue the school and seek for fair treatment. As Parents we have demanded that No School resources be used to defend the board and the principal from any legal injunction sought by these wrongfully sacked staff.

Other staff who are perceived to be working with the parents have been warned of similar fate if they dare leak any corruption / impunity matters in the school to parents.
Students belonging to parents who have been vocal against corruption in school have been wrongly subjected to severe punishment and have had their parents referred to using very bad names so as to embarrass them. They have also been warned against reporting any corruption matters to their parents. These students have been profiled and others who are in Class 8 warned of not being registered to do exams at Nyali School. In fact some parents with students in Class 8 have been locked out of the WhatsApp group for the Class 8 as they are seen as being Vocal against corruption and poor school management.

The School accounts went to extreme negative figure toward the end of last year with school depending on overdrafts to pay staff in December. The looting board of directors had approved spending on irrelevant projects so as to maximize the loot. Most of these projects were done by companies belonging to the principal of board of Directors. When the school reopened, there were No textbooks or even exercise books for the students. The looting Principal had to use his personal resources to convince leading bookshops to provide School textbooks and exercise books on credit.
In the last year hotly convened Special General Meeting, it was agreed that a constitutional amendment MUST be undertaken and a committee to undertake the exercise be constituted. It is very sad that the Principal and the Board have decided to hijack the process and serve the interest of their stomachs and ensure looting goes ON at Nyali School. They have now enjoined one of the Trustees who have been very protective of the looting Principal and the Board to ensure that the process favors those seeking to maintain the looting culture. We disgruntled parents have written to the Board to raise our concerns (attached letter) but nothing has been replied so far. We are DEMANDING that the process be initiated using a consultation forum betwen disgruntled parents and the board and decision be made on how the process shall be conducted.

The School buses that brought up all the Corruption matters in School have still been purchased using a Bank loan that was not approved by parents. This purchase went on despite parents being against it.
The looting Principal who admitted in the Spacial General Meeting last year that “Paramount Educational Centre” belongs to his “wife” still channels Nyali School resources to Paramount. Worst is, bright students who want to Join Nyali are convinced by the principal that Paramount has better environment and that Nyali School will soon Collapse.
We disgruntled parents still believe that Board has failed to discharge its oversight mandate on behalf of parents and is being manipulated by the Principal to loot Nyali School resources. We still DEMAND that the board and the Principal STEP ASIDE and allow for a thorough forensic investigation to pave way for reforms that will bring back the school to Glory days.
We are NOT relenting and Aluta Continua.
