Frustrated members of the workforce at Manga Corner Hotel in Limuru are up in arms against the establishment linked to a powerful owner over their unpaid dues.
Speaking out on behalf of suffering colleagues, an employee at the 3-star hotel revealed to us that for the last six months, they have not received a single penny from the management led by Mr Manga Mugwe despite tirelessly working for long hours.
Whenever they ask for their money, they are hit by the same old excuse that business has been low due to the COVID pandemic.
However, the reality on the ground paints a rather different picture with clients popping in and out of the establishment every day.
Recently, when a section of the staff pulled efforts and organized to demand their rightfully deserved 6-months pay, the management threatened to sack them.
“Hello, Nyakundi.
Please hide my ID.
I work in one hotel in Limuru Town-owned and managed by one Manga Mugwe.
Somehow related to Kenyatta’s family.
For the last 6 months, they have not paid us.
When we ask about it we are told that the business is still down due to COVID which is not the case.
We have really suffered.
We have taken loans which we don’t know if we will ever pay.
The name of the hotel is Manga Corner Hotel.
When we demanded to know when we will be paid our dues the management threatened to sack us.
We have been holding meetings and it is like they don’t want to pay us.
We are almost giving up,” the source writes.
