Hours after this blog published the story of an Eritrean fraudster who fled off with a car hired from a rental agency in Mombasa County, more details have emerged on the suspect identified as “Filmon Bharti”.
After the article was shared on Cyprian Nyakundi’s Facebook page, one of our diligent followers was kind enough to provide us with further information, which establishes Mr Bharti as the alleged proprietor of the “Attibassi Coffee Kenya” outlets currently situated in Westlands and Gigiri.
The lady, who was once an employee at the restaurant, confessed that the Eritrean was a vulgar and arrogant boss who was notorious for mistreating his staff.
“Akwende ndani kabisa!” she says in the comment.
Earlier on Sunday, June 19, a Mombasa-based businessman briefed us on how Mr Bharti approached his yard earlier this year in search of a station wagon for private use within the city.
After completing all the transactions, they rented him one of their units.
He was to return it in April.
But on the agreed deadline day, a rude shock met them when he suddenly switched off all his phones.
From this moment onwards, all efforts to access him have proved futile.
The suspect had reportedly booked a long-term stay at Pride Inn Hotel, but a routine check proved this to be false.
There was simply no trace of the guy.
In his submission, he attached pictures, a mobile phone number, and a copy of the passport that Mr Bharti provided as he rented the car.
The businessman has asked anyone with an idea of Mr Bharti’s whereabouts to contact him immediately.
