Mohamed Jaffer-owned Proto Energy has taken the use and dump for cheap labor to a new level.
In a new exposé by a source, the firm lied to over 40 staff members who were retained as casual, that they’ll be employed on a permanent and pensionable basis.
“Hello Nyakundi, I am one of the workers who have been slaved for almost 1 year and being promised to be given a contract but wapi. Finally, wametufuta job na mshahara hawakutulipa”, the source wrote.
The pain of working for nearly a year and then getting sacked is too much.

Proto Energy is not a equal opportunity employer but a slave driver.
They have a use-and-dump policy where they exploit unemployment to employ desperate Kenyans, work them in concentration-camp-like jobs, then dump them when they request better and more humane workspaces.
“Nyakundi, I need this to be publicly addressed. We were sacked from the company like dogs. All 43 staff members who we were working initially in the workshop for conversion. After 7 months they transferred us to the filling station. Then after that, wakatufuta. The reason they said we asked for salary increment from Sh8700 to at least Sh25000 as they promised us but we were thrown out”.
