This evening, the Presidency ceased to exist.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has made changes in the structure of the Presidency, removing the independent-ness of the Deputy President’s office.
The Deputy President, William Ruto now works directly under President Uhuru.
Executive order by President Uhuru Kenyatta has abolished the Presidency and instead put the office of the deputy President under the office of the president. This implies,DP will no longer have power to hire staff, instead the powers has been designated to head of public service.
Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy have not been in good terms since his handshake with ODM leader Raila Odinga in March 2018.
DP Ruto has opposed most of Kenyatta’s plans especially The Building Bridged Initiative.
Most of the politicians allied to DP Ruto have been removed from positions of power.
Recently, in the Senate, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen was replaced by West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghisio as Majority leader; Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata replaced his Nakuru counterpart Ms Susan Kihika; Prof. Margaret Kamar replaced Prof Kindiki Kithure as Deputy Speaker of the Senat. In the National Assembly, Majority Chief Whip and Runyenjes MP Cecily Mbarire was replaced by Igembe North MP Maoka Maore, there were other changes as pertains to the whip positions.
National Assembly Majority Leader and Garissa MP Aden Duale survived, but pundits say not for long. KIieni MP Kanini Kega says he has collected 115 signatures, and still counting, to remove Majority Leader Aden Duale.
The above changes and the one done this afternoon means that DP Ruto is being ‘clipped’ according to analysis by political scientists.
Bloggers too had this to say

Uhuru wants Ruto to face Ichaweri and shout, “Uhuru the father, Uhuru the son, Uhuru the Ngai.”
No way!! Let’s see how this will end.
Basically it’s a move meant to push DP out. Is DP willing to bend so low for his survival?
Maybe!!! pic.twitter.com/UWI4c18L6b
